Every year, weekends are filled with activities such as kick-offs, training weekends, mulled wine gatherings, summits, annual meetings and the annual Cultural Carnival, which has quickly become an institution in the same class as the Relay Carnival. We are active in public debate and the media, commenting on draft legislation both in writing and in Parliament&#8217;s various committees, and participating in working groups dealing with education policy issues. We advocate for schoolyouth at relevant seminars and other events, and train policy makers and school staff on school democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.skolungdom.fi\/en\/our-impact\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Hobby activities and opportunities to influence<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The FSS has several committees working on international cooperation, school visits, training, events, advocacy and the EBL magazine. Getting involved in these committees is a great way to become an active member in our association, and there is something for everyone. More information on the committees &gt;&gt; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.skolungdom.fi\/om-fss\/arsmotet-elevriksdagen\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Pupils&#8217; Day (ERIK)<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The ERIK is the annual meeting of the FSS and its highest decision-making body. At ERIK we process and decide various questions regarding educational policies that the association will work for. All members of FSS can participate and vote. At ERIK, we elect a new Board and Bureau, approve all governing documents and debate important topics. The first Student Day in this format was held in 1955.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cooperation in the field<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We actively cooperate with other Finnish student unions and other actors in Finland. We are active members of F\u00f6rbundsarenan and the Finnish Youth Cooperation Alliance (Alianssi). Submit your idea that aims to solve a major international problem, answer a local question or create completely new opportunities.
