We work for a society where all schoolchildren feel good, feel safe and enjoy their everyday lives both at school and outside.
We want to help create the best possible conditions for a good life both during and after secondary education. That is why one of our main objectives is to highlight young people’s needs and advocate on their behalf in our advocacy work.
How do we impact society?
- We organize trainings to strengthen school democracy (for pupil and student councils, supervising teachers and other teachers)
- We organize events on advocacy and topical issues (for FSS activists, student union boards, etc.)
- We lobby for FSS policy objectives (policy makers, politicians, civil servants)
- We take a stand on political issues (on social media, the web, TV, radio, newspapers, blog posts, EBL)
- We comment on legislative proposals, decrees and reports (to the Ministry of Education and Culture, the National Agency for Education, the Parliamentary Committee on Culture, etc.)
- We give speeches at seminars and events (in the Finland-Swedish sector and the youth sector etc., please invite us!)

The FSS advocates a strong education as the basis for a well-functioning society. Education needs to constantly evolve and adapt according to time and change. All young people’s voices are equally valuable, which is why we want you to be part of it!
